Description
Gorgonzola DOP belongs to the family of blue cheese. It obtained recognition of the Protected Designation of Origin in 1996 and since then it can only be produced in Piemonte region (in particular in the province of Novara, Vercelli, Cuneo and Casale Monferrato) and in Lombardy (in the provinces of Bergamo, Brescia, Como, Cremona, Milan and Pavia. This is the sweet version of Gorgonzola, and it is creamy and easy to spread. It’s ideal with bread and can easily be used to create amazing dishes like pasta with Gorgonzola and walnuts, gnocchi and many others.
